Welcome to the gallery! Here you can view works from some of our amazing artists. At San Marcos Art Cafe, the Free Create Studio and art classes hosted in the Event Studio make for great spaces to let customers’ creativity flow. The online gallery originally started in 2020 during the COVID pandemic. Social distancing made it difficult for the cafe to balance customer safety and engaging experiences, so we opted to shift our classes online. We began the gallery for customers to send in the art they created during classes to inspire others to find joy in tough situations.
One of our key beliefs is giving everyone a chance to make art, so our gallery features anyone who wants their art to be displayed. We at San Marcos Art Cafe wish to encourage and uplift any artist regardless of technical skill or experience. As any of our customers tell you, the value in these pieces is how it felt to make them. Customers who have never held a paint brush before have found a new passion for art thanks to the fun they had in one of our many art classes. In addition, having a venue for displaying art gives customers a sense of accomplishment and pride in their work.
If you like these pieces make sure to come by our cafe for a look at even more incredible art. As part of our dedication to supporting local artists, our building is decorated in art by various artists from the city. Customers can browse these pieces and buy them, with 100% of profits going to the original artist. Our in-person and online gallery changes monthly, so make sure to check often to find your new favorite art piece when it gets put on display! To get your own art displayed, email ArtCafeSMTX@gmail.com.
